    Food Packaging ... FOAM

    Posted by waritthi in Untagged

I don't understand why Thai government does not support the use of bio-degradable material... for example material that can replace the unsustained food packaging.... FOAM.

Eventhough, there is the fact that we can create the bio-degradable dish/ bowl etc. by Kasetsart University. No one support this innovative product to have a success commercialization .

Why don't government issue the law that do not allow making and distribution the FOAM.... Thai government should 'stop' the business or industry that create pollution to both society and environment, and encourage sustainable business and industry. This will then force Thai consumer/ food merchant to buy the bio-degradable dish/ bowl instead of using foam.

    Recycle food waste

    Recycle food waste

The main reasons for throwing away food can be grouped in to "cooking or preparing too much", for example cooking too much rice or pasta and it gets left in the saucepan or on the plate or "not using food in time" - for example having to throw out fruit and vegetables because they’ve gone off in the fruit bowl or in the fridge, or not eating food before it goes past its use-by date.

We know that there are lots of potential reasons why food might not get eaten in time – our plans change, we forget what food we have in the cupboards, we forget to freeze or chill something to use at a later date, we lack the confidence or knowledge on how to use up our leftovers. So, there are many ways that you can recycle food waste by compose it. You can add the following items of food waste to your compost:

    Food Ecology

    Posted by admin in Untagged

Most of people think that the sustainable food is something about food packaging, food quality, organic food, consumer's Rights and restaurants. These are parts of the whole food ecology.

There are more topics to discuss for food sustainability. In my opinion, if we want to 'design' the sustainable food, we have to start looking from land, crops, farmers (from small farmers to Huge Agricultural corporation), the agricultural or commodity trading, Green Revolution, Agro business/ Aricultural industry, Fair Trade vs. Free Trade, Energy and transportation of Globalization of foods, National Food security and self-sufficiency, Organic Foods vs. GMOs, Fast food vs. Slow food  ..... wastes of food packaging.

Oh this seems to be the bigger issues more than just design .... But this is REALLY a big picture of today's food ecology.
